Through export and innovation, Swedish companies significantly contribute to the increasing welfare of the country. By exporting and importing goods and services, through investing in international markets and by attracting foreign capital, trade and exchange with other countries plays a huge part in contributing to the Swedish success story and makes the country highly competitive from a global perspective.

The EXPORT HERMES prize is awarded annually, to highlight the importance of international trade and to encourage companies to continue to strengthen Sweden globally.

The award is organised jointly by the Foundation for Export Development and the Swedish Chambers of Commerce. The award ceremony traditionally takes place during the World Trade Day in Stockholm.

During spring it is time to apply or nominate companies for the EXPORT HERMES. The applicants/nominees must meet the following criteria:

  • The company is headquartered in Sweden.
  • The company’s turnover exceeds 10 Million SEK (parent company and companies located abroad).
  • The company has expanded internationally in an innovative way (e.g. by establishing in new markets, by taking market shares, or by putting Sweden on the map within new industries and new countries).
  • The company has good finances.

The application process must include:

  • Completed application form
  • The last Annual Report (Swedish or English)

The application deadline is May 24.

The award ceremony takes place during the festive setting of the World Trade Day in Stockholm in August. For the last few years the HERMES statuette has been presented by H.R.H Crown Princess Victoria.
